The Need for Asian Peace and Reconcilation Council (APRC)
Many potential flashpoints and conflict situations within and between societies in Asia could obstruct Asia's progress and peaceful development. Alternative platforms may be required to contribute to reconciliation and conflict transformation.
The Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council (APRC), a non-governmental organization, was launched in Bangkok on 5 September 2012 by a gathering of distinguished former national leaders and ministers, including well-known academics, from around the world who share a keen interest in Asian affairs, and are willing to offer their good offices in the service of peace and reconciliation in Asia.
